Maintenance & Indoor Air Quality
Keep your system efficient and indoor air healthy despite Hawaii's humidity, salt, and vog.
How often should I service my AC in Hawaii's climate?
We recommend bi-annual maintenance (spring and fall) for homes and quarterly visits for vacation rentals or oceanfront properties. Heavy-use commercial systems may need monthly filter service because salt and vog accumulate quickly.
Do you offer maintenance plans with reminders?
Yes. Our Island Comfort Plans include calendar reminders, priority scheduling, coil cleanings, drain flushes, and annual refrigerant checks. Members receive discounted emergency diagnostics and documented service logs for warranty compliance.
How do you keep mold, mildew, and vog under control?
Technicians sanitize drain pans, treat coils with antimicrobial solutions, and can install UV purification or high-MERV filtration designed for vog and volcanic ash. We also monitor humidity levels to recommend dehumidifiers when needed.
What can I do between professional visits?
Rinse condenser coils with fresh water monthly, change or clean filters, trim vegetation back 2 feet, and sweep lanais to reduce salt buildup. If you're traveling, set the thermostat to 78°F and leave fans on low to keep air moving.
